Our Framework

Our Approach to Treatment

We do not begin with a predetermined method. We first seek to understand your experiences, current needs, and goals, then collaboratively determine which therapeutic approaches may be appropriate.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR is a psychotherapy for distressing memories, with its strongest research base in PTSD. In the model behind it, what stays from an experience that was not fully processed can be a feeling, a thought about yourself or a sensation in the body, so the work does not depend on remembering the event clearly. Whether and when it is used depends on your history and readiness.

IFS Therapy

IFS describes inner conflict as different parts of a person pulling in opposite directions. In sessions each part is met with curiosity, and its job is understood, including the protective ones that keep painful feelings at a distance.

Polyvagal-Informed Perspective

A polyvagal-informed perspective looks at how the autonomic nervous system responds to safety, stress and connection. In sessions, states such as being on edge, shutting down or struggling to settle are named plainly, along with what eases them.

Attachment-Focused Therapy

Attachment-focused therapy looks at how earlier relationships may still shape closeness, trust and conflict. The relationship with the therapist is part of the work, a place where those patterns can be noticed and other ways of relating tried.

EMDR is not always where we begin. When trauma or attachment wounds affect your sense of safety, the first sessions may focus on what steadies you, in yourself and in your relationships. Memory processing starts when it is clinically appropriate and you have agreed to it.

Get Started

Our work begins with understanding you

The first sessions are for understanding your history and what you want from therapy. The focus and pace are then planned with you.
