Hello, I’m Hanouf Alahmari.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT 123060) and a Licensed Senior Specialist in Clinical Psychology in Saudi Arabia (Profile No. 20165281), with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. I am fluent in both Arabic and English, which allows me to work effectively with a diverse, international clientele. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. Alongside my clinical practice, I provide clinical supervision and serve as an EMDR Consultant in Training, supporting therapists in developing competence and depth in trauma focused work.

I specialize in supporting individuals facing complex challenges rooted in childhood and adult stressful experiences, including anxiety, panic attacks, mood disorders, PTSD, attachment wounds, and relationship difficulties. My work focuses on understanding how early relational experiences shape emotional regulation, self perception, and patterns of connection in adulthood. With cultural sensitivity and extensive experience across both California and the Middle East, I offer an integrative and personalized approach that honors each client’s history, nervous system, and relational context.

I recognize the courage it takes to begin a healing journey. Stressful and relational experiences can create distance from your sense of self, and my goal is to work collaboratively with you to restore safety, connection, and internal coherence. Hello, I’m Dana Awlia.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and I’m a Licensed Specialist in Clinical Psychology in Saudi Arabia (Profile No. 25858040). I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and I also integrate other evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and attachment-based therapy. My work is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, with careful attention to their clinical presentation, relational context, and goals for therapy.

I have experience working with diverse populations across a wide range of clinical concerns, including mood disorders, personality disorders, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), relational difficulties, and attachment-related patterns. My clinical approach is grounded in the Multicultural Orientation Framework, recognizing the importance of cultural identity, lived experience, and context in shaping psychological well-being.

I view therapy as a collaborative process. We work together to deepen our understanding of your experiences, navigate challenges, and support meaningful change in a way that feels aligned, respectful, and sustainable. You can begin by completing our contact form [Here] to request a session.
