Hanouf Alahmari

Hi, I'm Hanouf. I work with adults, couples, and families navigating trauma, attachment wounds, relationship difficulties, and the lasting effects of painful life experiences. Many of the people I work with have spent years functioning well on the outside while privately experiencing anxiety, emotional disconnection, self-doubt, or recurring relationship patterns that no longer align with how they want to live and relate.

Every person has a unique inner world, and I love getting to know what has shaped it. I aim to stay curious and attuned, offering a therapeutic relationship with room for each person to feel seen, valued, supported, and safe enough to explore who they are and who they are becoming.

My work integrates EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based psychotherapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and somatic perspectives. Rather than beginning with a predetermined method, I draw from these approaches according to each person's history, relationships, cultural context, current needs, goals, and readiness for trauma-focused work. Therapy is collaborative, and its focus and pace may evolve as the work develops.

I am licensed in California and Saudi Arabia and provide psychotherapy in Arabic and English. I am EMDR Certified, trained in IFS, and have more than 12 years of specialized experience working with trauma, attachment, and relationship concerns across diverse cultural contexts.

Alongside my clinical practice, I provide consultation and training for psychotherapists and speak on trauma, attachment, relationships, and culturally responsive mental health care. As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant-in-Training™, I also support clinicians working toward EMDR certification. Across my work with clients and clinicians, I am guided by careful clinical judgment, thoughtful collaboration, and respect for each person's lived experience, culture, and values.
